Birds 'n' Bugs

10 am - 3pm

In 2009 MACARTHUR area entomologist Stephen Fellenberg (the Bug Man) hosted amazing bug shows at 11am and 1pm, and took the kids to discover “what’s in the pond” at 12pm and 2pm. which was great fun.  There was also  plenty of eight-legged creatures to inspect.  Children (and their parents) learned how to tell the difference between friendly and not-so-friendly creepy-crawly visitors to your house and garden, which ones to welcome and which to discourage.

There was a beautiful display of birds from The Budgerigar Society of NSW, and their members answered questions on keeping native birds.

The Wallaby Playgroup had some fantastic mask-making and plaster-painting activities for the littlies, and there was fun stuff for kids of all ages in The Dilly Wanderer bus.

A fun and educational day for the whole family.

Entry is by donation, 100% of which is used to maintain the Sanctuary.
